Jodi Freeman Memorial Award

Jodi graduated from Western in 2008 with an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences. After obtaining a Masters degree in Criminology, she returned to work at Western in 2010 and went on to build a fulfilling and impactful career within Housing & Ancillary Services. A dedicated and inspiring leader, Jodi was the first two-time recipient of the Western Award of Excellence – the university’s highest honour for staff members. Her influence was far-reaching and her leadership, compassion and unwavering kindness left a deep impression on both students and colleagues.
The goal of this fund is to provide a financial award in Jodi’s memory each year to an incoming Western student. While the specific eligibility criteria are still being finalized in collaboration with Western, the award will aim to support a female first-year student in the Health Sciences program, with a special focus on those living in residence – reflecting Jodi’s lifelong commitment to student life and her belief in the importance of belonging.
If Jodi touched your life – through her friendship, mentorship or leadership – we invite you to consider a contribution to help carry forward her legacy.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Freeman Family
